B.Sc. Biotechnology (Honours)

Biotechnology field, biosciences and technology manipulate living organisms as well as the biological system to compose products. And those products are very beneficial for mankind. This course is totally related to food, agriculture, healthcare, environmental, pharmacy, etc. Biotechnology is the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make products, or “any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use”. The students of Biotechnology are given training in the identification of genes that confer a high degree of resistance to disease on animals and plants. The department has well equipped laboratories with sophisticated instruments like cooling centrifuge, multipurpose electrophoresis system, spectrophotometer, etc.
